What’s in my Purse.

No I’m not gonna talk about the AFC Champ game. But I will say I still love my Ravens. Nothing will change that.

So today I’ve decided to let you into my world a little more and show you what I’m keeping in my purse. This is the same purse from the last time, my lovely Coach Ashley Satchel that I bought in Atlantic City last March. I still love it just as much as I did when I bought it. So, here’s what I keep in it right now!

Everything!

I know. It looks like a lot of stuff, but it’s all the stuff I carry with me to work on a daily basis.

The Beauty Stuff

Here we have all the stuff I keep with me during a day to make sure that I look as close to on top as I possibly can all day. In my little pink cosmetic bag, I keep my small Dr. Feelgood complexion balm, my small sized Urban Decay De-Slick in a Tube (takes care of oily patches), a mini sized bottle of my favorite perfume Lolita Lempika by Lolita Lempika, my sample sized Urban Decay Naked Lip Junkie lip gloss, a mini sized Too Faced Glamour Gloss (don’t remember the color name), a travel sized Benefit Porefessional, mini MAKEUP FOREVER Smoky Lash mascara, mini Benefit Benetint, a Bath and Body Works PocketBac in Orange Sapphire, and a tube of High Beam To Go. I also have a packet of Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets (what? I have a seriously greasy t-zone. Especially in the summer. Which it is not, but still.) A tube of Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss in David (I’ll put some pictures of David at the end of the post), a tube of Urban Decay XXXShine Lip Gloss in Naked (which apparently they discontinued. Damn), a tube of Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch and in Peach Kiss (I have to just get lucky and stumble on these in Target, whenever I go looking for them, they’re sold out), a tube of Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in Dreamy (a pretty pinky nude color), my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, a bottle of Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo Powder (love this stuff, it’s the best!), my pot of Smith’s Rosebud Salve that I never leave home without, my Urban Decay Face Case (three eye shadows, a blush, three lip glosses and a brush. It’s the best!), my Tarte for True Blood Lip Tint, my mini hair brush, and my pretty personalized mirror that my daddy gave to me a few years ago for Christmas (yes, I still call him “daddy” and no I have no issue with it. I love my Daddy). And that’s the beauty side. I’d like to point out that most of it is lip colors, because I’m really indecisive about which one I want to wear, and apparently I inherited the habit of keeping lots of lip colors in my purse from my mom.

My hand cream

This was hidden in the front pocket of my purse while I was taking pictures, but this is my purse tube of L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. I use a lot of this, especially during the winter, because it keeps my hands from being dry. I also have tubes of it scattered all around my world. One on my desk, another on my bedside table, and I think I’ll be bringing one down to the kitchen. This stuff is amazing.

The Stuff

And here is all my other crap. Here we have my Coach Soho wallet, that matches my Coach Ashley Satchel down to the fabric lining it, my myAgenda day planner for the year; this year’s color is metallic graphite, my sunglasses pouch and the sunglasses that go with it (from the LOFT and Target respectively. I have Coach ones, but I really like my cheap and cheery ones from Target better), a Purell sanitizing wipe, my bag of Advil (I get headaches, I gotta carry Advil), my bottle of Origins Peace of Mind cream (it’s a pain reliever that can sometimes help my headaches when I rub it on my temples, earlobes, and back of my neck), my ID case, my keys, my headphones to listen to my iPod while typing away at work or on the bus/metro to/from school, my glasses cleaning cloth, my favorite BIC Triumph pens, my favorite highlighters, a lint remover, oh, and my Kindle Fire! Which I am happy with, even though I know a lot of people aren’t happy with their Fire’s. Maybe it’s because I’m happy with what I can afford (it would take me ages to save up enough to buy an iPad. I’d give up halfway through and buy something else), maybe I got a good one, but I really love it. And yes, it is in a hot pink bejeweled cover. This keeps certain people from walking off with it, because someone would have to take their guy card. It works.

Well, that’s all the stuff in my bag right now. Who knows, things might change when I start class tomorrow. But there, you’ve seen what’s in my purse.

Here’s some closeups of David:

And here’s a picture of my sweet mirror from my Daddy:

Well that’s all. I gotta go put on work-appropriate nail polish. I can’t wear the above pictured dark purple. Which is cool.

Good Luck Ravens!

Alright my Ravens, tomorrow afternoon, you’ll be fighting for your place in the Super Bowl. In case you didn’t know. Which I’m sure you did, I mean, you’re awesome and all that. Just want to say a few things. Don’t worry, it’s all good, and it’s not telling you how to do your job. There are enough bashers and people telling you how to do your job out there.

First of all, I believe in you. All of you. This year has been amazing, you’ve done freaking awesome things, and I don’t just mean that whole Steelers sweep. Or even the AFC North Division sweep. Breaking records, great locker room, rookies kicking ass, even though they had the lockout (may we never go through such a thing again) to work against them. Awesome, all of you.

Next, Joe. Oh Mr. Joe Awesome Flacco. One, I believe in you. Every play, every game, every day. You could throw interceptions every play, and I’d still believe that your next pass would be an epic touchdown. Although you really never need to test that belief. Just know it’s the truth. You handle the bashers (screw them all, they’re asshats who need hobbies), handle the Bayless, and rock the Fu-stache like no one else ever could.

Do I really need to say much about Ray Lewis and Ed Reed? Really? These guys are brilliance defined. They’ve all played great this year. I grew up watching this duo. When they retire, I will be crying and if they retire at the same time, forget about talking to me for a while, I’ll be flat out bawling and in need of serious consolation. You are the life and soul of the Ravens and Baltimore.

Terrell Suggs. T-Sizzle. The sacks you’ve made this year were epic. This guy owns Roethlisberger’s ass. Seriously, he even said he keeps it in a little refrigerator in his basement. He plays like a beast every day. And following him on Twitter is awesome, by the way, you all should find him.

And speaking of beast, let’s just talk for a second about Paul Kruger. Or as I tend to call him when he runs on the field, PAUL F**KING KRUGER! Yeah, that’s right. Mr. Kruger is awesome. He’s just snapped into beast mode this entire year, basically you see him running at a guy on the field, and you know something’s about to go down. So please let me have a lot of times to start shouting like I always do when you play, and dancing around the way I do when you do something good.

And now lets pause for a minute on our rookies. Torrey Smith. Jimmy Smith. Pernell McPhee. Tandon Doss. Jah Reid. Torrey: Love cheering for you every week. Any time you catch that ball I’m yelling (and tweeting) GO TORREY! GO TORREY! Jimmy: Oh my God, lets just recall that epic interception you made last year. And really, these past few weeks you’ve been doing pretty damn good on the field. Pernell, you’re kicking ass just as much as any other guy, and the combination of you with Paul Kruger is pretty epic. Tandon, you did some damn good work playing while Anquan was out. Can’t wait to see more of you. Plus I have the slightest bit of a soft spot for anyone who shares my exact birth date as it is the best date in the history of earth (9/22/89 babies are the best!), so I pull for you a lot when you’re in. And Jah. Keep it up, love seeing you check in on the field. All of you guys, keep it up, you’re rocking.

Dennis Pitta, Mr. Dennis Pitta, as the words of my little sister: You’re amazing. Stay amazing. And keep rocking that Fu. Glad you made some big milestones this year, hope you keep making more tomorrow.

Anquan Boldin, you’re freaking awesome. Almost always a sure thing when Joe throws that ball your way, it’s gonna be a pretty play. So very, very, very glad that you recovered in time to rock for the team on the football field. Hope you keep healthy and keep playing. And hope you get a ton of catches tomorrow, many of them touchdowns.

To Ray Rice. First off, my sister loves shouting every time you make a play “hey diddle, diddle, Ray Rice up the middle!” So I hope you can make her shout that lots tomorrow during the game. And I hope that tomorrow brings you a wonderful 25th birthday, with all that you want, especially if you are wanting a trip to the Super Bowl instead of the Pro Bowl. It’s great to have you in Baltimore, great to follow you on twitter, and awesome to have your autograph up in my room. You play so well and do so much good for the city. Hope to see you hear for a long time.

And I gotta give a brief moment to one of my absolute favorites, Tommy Zbikowski. By the way, dude, you freaking made my day when you retweeted me once. You’re awesome. And I keep believing that one time when you’re returning a kick, you’ll take it all the way for a touchdown. And when you do, I will be jumping up and down screaming for you and throwing all my strength and energy and whatever to you to will you into the endzone without a single flag. Been watching you since Notre Dame, and hope to watch you for a long time yet. (and you may be one of the hottest guys on the team, but that has nothing to do with football… soooo, yeah.) And please stop it with the concussions… they’re not cool. Although I’m sure they’re not cool for you either.

Okay, sorry, I’m starting to get sleepy, so I’ll be grouping more of you into one paragraph now. It’s nothing personal or against your awesomeness. I’m just sleepy. And want energy for the game.

Brendon Ayanbadejo, I’ll keep you solo, because you’re awesome. And also because not only did you acknowledge a tweet I sent you, you freaking sent me a tweet back!

OMG AWESOME!

I did pick one, promise. And I also always enjoy your twitter, pictures of you and Zibby driving in, and awesomeness on the field. It’s great to watch and cheer. And loved your radio show this past season. Really, you’re one of my favorite guys on the team.

Really, all the guys on the offense are awesome. Matt Birk, Ed Dickson, Lee Evans, Bryant McKinnie, Ben Grubbs, Kris Wilson (what a great time to get your first touchdown in a few years as during the playoffs!), Michael Oher, Vonta Leach, Marshall Yanda (omg, readers, have you heard how epically tough this guy is? He freaking played after surgery! Any unsure about how tough he may be/awesome he may be was erased there!), Ricky Wilson. It’s so awesome watching all you guys and the ones I may have forgotten to name (sorry, operating on headache brain!). It’s a thing of beauty, no matter what kind of game it is.

And the defense. Oh the defense, you’re brilliant. Chris Carr, Terrence Cody, Dannell Ellerbe, Jarrett Johnson (someone asked me last week what my thoughts on you were, I said simply that I think you’re freaking awesome, and any doubts I may have subconsciously had were resolved when you knocked Hines Ward flat on his back. Especially when his legs were dangling in the air.), Jameel McClain, Haruki Nakamura, Haloti Ngata (NGATA CHANCE!), Bernard Pollard (hey, if you could maneuver some form of a hit on Tom Brady like you did back in 2008, that would be cool…), Cory Redding, Lardarius Webb (love shouting for you as you make epic plays, keep it up!), Cary Williams; you’re all amazing. Each and every one of you, and again, any ones I didn’t name (headache brain is a bitch), you’re all amazing, part of one of the most awesome defenses out there!

And Special Teams. Billy Cundiff, David Reed, Sam Koch, all the other guys who go play special teams, you’re all amazing. Even when I get mad at you because you keep fumbling (cough starts with D and ends with R cough!). The plays made this year are almost always great. And last week, how you all played. Interceptions, recovering at great spots. You’re all great.  (again, headache brain…)

So all in all, I’m not telling you how you should play tomorrow, but just know that while you’re playing, I’ll be in my living room, cheering my butt off for each and every one of you. Waiting for the moment I can shout “SUPER BOWL!!!!” and hoping I won’t have to save that cheer for next year. Sending each and every bit of good vibe, strength, will power, and whatever else I can send through brain waves. Because I know that while many people in the sports world have written you off, you’re gonna go in there and give it your all, like you have every game day this year. And the awesome Mr. Ray Lewis will be shouting “WHAT TIME IS IT?!” for everyone else to shout back “GAME TIME!” The dogs will be in the house.

Love to you all. Cheering for you my boys!

Review: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

So by now, most people have heard of the Naked 2 Palette from Urban Decay. It’s the follow up to their best selling Naked Palette (which I still don’t have. Long story, but I’ll be purchasing soon. After I purchase my textbooks.) And it. is. amazing! The colors are all slightly warmer toned, and more mediums, which I like, since I don’t do a lot of dark eye looks. You get 12 full sized eye shadows, a double ended brush, and a mini Naked Lip Junkie lip gloss. I convinced my little sister to let me borrow her camera so I could get pictures that would do it justice, since my iPhone really wasn’t and I still can’t find my camera.

The twelve colors are Foxy, Half Baked (dupe from Naked, but it’s gorgeous!), Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, and Blackout.

Foxy is a matte pale yellow, it’s kind of chalky, and if you have skin like mine it won’t always show up, but I do use it a lot under my brow, and it does lift the brow a little for me.

Half Baked is a golden glitter that is really creamy and pretty. Great pigmentation, and I love it.

Bootycall is a shimmery cream color that is also a great highlight, or for use in the corner of your eyes. This one has great color payoff and really can brighten up my look.

Chopper is a coppery glitter that has a great creamy consistency. I have to be careful with this one, because it can look a little bad if I use too much, but if I just use it on the outer corner of my eyes, it can look great.

Tease is a matte light brown that also can be a little chalky, but is a great color to use in the crease, which I do almost every day.

Snakebite is a gorgeous, gorgeous shimmery dark brown color. It’s got a great consistency and great payoff and looks amazing as an all-over color or a outer v color.

Suspect is a really pretty shimmery light brownish beige color. It’s another one with a really creamy consistency and deposits great color, I use it as an all-over lid color almost every day.

Pistol is one of my absolute favorite colors in this palette. It’s a beautiful shimmery greige, has loads of pigmentation, looks amazing anywhere you put it, and a wonderful consistency. I love this color so much!

Verve is a beautiful shimmery oyster shell color. Again with the consistency and pigmentation being great. I love wearing this one as a highlight, as a inner corner color, and as an all over color. It’s amazing!

YDK is my absolute favorite color of this entire palette. It’s a shimmery burnished gold color, and just looks absolutely amazing in the pan and on a lid. It is creamy, pigmented, and just incredibly gorgeous.

Busted is a shimmery deep brown with a little purple in it. This color has pretty good payoff, and a nice consistency. I use it most days as an accent to the outer v.

Blackout is a matte black. It’s quite chalky and hard to get payoff on the lid, but I don’t mind too much. I’m not someone who uses black shadow a lot, so I can deal with it, but for someone who likes blacks, beware.

The brush it comes with is great. Both ends have soft bristles, the crease brush side is nice and fluffy and great for crease-work or for blending. The flat shader end is firm and good for packing on shadow. And neither hold on to more shadow than it deposits onto the lid.

The Naked Lip Junkie lip gloss is a nice pinkish color, however, it makes my lips feel dry after wearing it, plus I think it’s buried somewhere in the depths of my purse.

I also really like the packaging of this one. I can’t talk much about the first palette’s packaging, but the second one has a nice metal tin packaging, it feels very sturdy, I wouldn’t be afraid to take it on a trip in my suitcase. Although I might not take it on a plane, but that’s because I don’t trust turbulence. It clicks shut, and I carry it in my purse every day and it hasn’t busted open in there (although it just might now). I really like the feel of this one.

All in all, I really love this palette. I use it every day. I tend to use Suspect on my entire lid, Tease in my crease, Snakebite in my outer corner, Busted in my outer v, Foxy on my brow, and Verve in my inner corner on most work days. It makes for a very neutral work look. On the weekends I play more and use all of the gorgeous colors.

You can buy this palette at Sephora and  Urban Decay’s website. Possibly other places, but those are the ones I know best. It’s not in stores yet, you can only buy it online, when it’s in stock. It costs $50.00 and I’d recommend getting on Urban Decay’s mailing list, as it’s out of stock a lot, and they email you when it’s back in stock. It may seem like a lot of money, but trust me, for what you’re getting it’s absolutely worth it. I don’t know if you would want both if you already have the Naked Palette, from what I hear these are mostly lighter, warmer colors than the first one. I can’t tell you if one is better than the other, but I can tell you that I think this one is absolutely fabulous! Way to go once again, Urban Decay!

Special thanks to my sister (tweetiegirlss) for letting me use her camera, taking some of the pictures, and letting me use her arm to swatch the shadows on.

Mascara Test: Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara. And Mascara Test Winner!

It’s the final installment! The last mascara is Benefit Bad Gal Lash. I’ve used this one before, but I stopped, and now I remember why. It just never lasted long enough as far as I was concerned. It went on dramatic and amazing, but by the end of the workday, it wasn’t there. However, if you’re willing to reapply this one once or twice during the day, this is a great one. Great volume, wonderful formula, and I’ve always loved the huge brush. You also do want to curl your lashes a little before putting it on, if you have lashes like mine that is. I’d score this one with a 7.5 out of 10. I do like that they also sell a small version of this mascara for $9, I can keep one on my desk at work. Here’s the pictures.

AM Picture

PM Picture

You can buy it at Sephora, or at Benefit, or at Ulta… many places. The link to Sephora is here.

And finally, we’ve gone through all the mascara samples I’ve accumulated and I have picked my favorite one, the winner, as it were. And that winner is Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara. I loved it the most, it requires the least amount of curl pre-application. I’ll be picking up a full sized version very soon. Each mascara I’ve reviewed is easily removed, whether it’s a long-lasting one or not. I tested it by removing with just my Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes. Most days I’ll use the eye makeup remover first and then a wipe, but when I’m too tired at night, I just hit my face with a wipe, so I tested for that. So there’s all of that.

Mascara Test: Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes!

Okay, as with yesterday I won’t post a picture of the test tube for this one as the real one is very different (seriously Tarte, what’s with the bulky packaging?) And really, this is the same as yesterday’s except for it’s waterproof, which Lights, Camera, Lashes! isn’t. Which means that I feel the same about this one as the last one. Too much a “no-mascara” lash look for me to like. So I probably won’t be getting it. Both this one and yesterday’s get a 5 out of 10 for me. Just not impressed enough. Here’s the AM/PM pictures:

Tomorrow will be the last one before I pick a winner. So I’ll talk later! Have a lovely day!

Mascara Test: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!

Okay, so I’m not including a picture of the tube of Lights, Camera, Lashes! because the sample packaging and the actual product packaging are vastly different. One is big and bulky, and the other one (the sample) is a small, sleek tube. And really, even if it wasn’t for the big, bulky packaging of the actual product, I still wouldn’t buy it, because it did not work well on my lashes. It was barely visible when I applied it, and by the end of the day, it didn’t look like I had any mascara to speak of on. I’m not one for the no mascara look, I’m one for the volume mascara look. I like having LASHES! Not barely there lashes like this mascara gave me. When I put on makeup, the feature I always focus on is my eyes, making them kind of natural, but still really dramatic.

Like I said, almost no mascara. Sad. Especially for $19. Not happening.

Mascara Test: Sephora Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara

Purple Nails for Ravens!

Welcome back to the Mascara Test! Today’s was Sephora Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara, which actually worked pretty well. It was kind of wet, and unlike yesterday’s mascara, it didn’t crumble into my eyes. It lasted all day, through the easier parts as well as through babysitting adorable and LOUD twinfants. I liked the volume it gave me, and the rich black lash color. It’s got the large brush with the tapered end, and is slightly less expensive at $15. Here’s the pics, taken at 9am and midnight.

And here’s the brush:

Ravens nails again!
